Amazon Launches Online Storage Service

Amazon recently released the Amazon Cloud Drive and the Amazon Cloud Player. It is an online service provided by Amazon that allows you to store your files online or "in the cloud". Here is a video of me talking about it. You can also read a text version of this under the video.

Amazon gives you 5GB for free. You can store anything you want in there. This includes your pictures, music, videos, etc. Anything you want. Also, if you purchase a music from Amazon MP3 and have it directly transferred to your Amazon Cloud Drive, it will not count toward your 5GB of free storage!

The music you store in the Amazon Cloud Drive can be viewed and listened to anywhere in the world as long as you have internet via the Amazon Cloud Player. It can also be accessed from your Android device via an app!

This is a great feature for people on the go. You can also back out some important files onto this if you want. :) I love this because I myself like never keep an extra copy of my music in my computer. If my MP3 player crashes, my music is gone. With the new cloud player, all the music I purchase via Amazon MP3 is automatically backed up into Amazon Cloud Drive! I've wanted to do this for years! What a wonderful feature. I'm pretty sure you will find it useful too.

If you don't know where the Amazon Cloud Drive and the Amazon Cloud Player are. Just click on the name and it will take you there.

Also for a limited time, when you purchase any album from Amazon MP3Amazon will upgrade your storage to 20GB FREE! You can also buy more space if you need it.

Facebook launches Question feature

The screenshot you see above is a screenshot of the new Facebook Question feature. This feature allows you to ask a question and have your friends or anyone else with a Facebook account to vote on an answer. In other words it is pretty much a poll.

You can ask a question by clicking the "Question" button right next to the "Status" button above the "What's on your mind?" box. After you answer to a poll, a message telling others which question and the answer you chose will be posted on your wall and be shared with your friends or anyone else you allow to see your Facebook wall.

If above instructions didn't make sense, I have created a little video showing you how it works.

I think this is a wonderful feature. :) Now if they will let us directly link to the polls... Or embed the polls. That would be great.

PlayStation Phone becomes the real deal!

I don't  if you guys remember, but last year, I did do a post on the rumors about a PlayStation phone. Back then, it was just a rumor, but right now, it is the real deal! The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is the first ever PlayStation certified phone running the Gingerbread (Android OS).

The smartphone will feature a touchscreen like most smartphones and with a control pad similar to a PSP. The new device can be used as a smartphone, but it can also play modified Android games with it's new controller. The game modified for the phone is only exclusively on this device.

Photo from Engadget.

The device also has a built in camera with an LED flash like most smartphones now. The LCD screen is a bit bigger than the iPhone 4's screen.

I guess there is always room for improvement on new devices like this. The shiny battery cover can be easily scratched up... I'm guessing they could have worked in a glasses-free 3D display on the device because a lot of people is looking forward to it and the technology for is available now.

Although the phone is not available for sale right now, you might be interested in the following products. Please check them out.

Here is a video me talking about the phone.

Amazon Launches AppStore for Android

The Amazon AppStore can be accessed here.

Despite all the suing Apple is doing to Amazon regarding the use of the name "App Store", Amazon has launched a new AppStore for Android smartphones/tablets! Amazon released this new AppStore in hopes it will gain as much popularity as the Android Market and the iTunes App Store.

The new AppStore on Amazon allows you to browse its apps on your computer, on your mobile device's browser, or though an app for Android phones. Currently the store features around 3,000 apps compared to the Android Market which has around 200,000 apps, and the iTunes app store which has around 350,000 apps.

Although 3,000 apps isn't a whole lot, it will definitely gain some popularity with it's "test drive" feature which allows you to try the application in a computer emulator before making the final purchase. I understand that application developers have made trial versions of applications where you can install and try, but it obviously isn't as convenient as the new "test drive" feature they have made. What's more convenient than directly trying the game out in your current browser window? Installing extra apps can always risk filling up your storage with massive amounts from temporary files that you may have trouble removing. This problem is usually caused when a user installed extra applications and then removing them (in the case of installing a trial and removing it later). The browser "test drive" feature will cut a lot of this out by letting the user try the application on the browser they are currently using before purchasing.

Here is a video of me talking about the Amazon AppStore.

Also quoted from the Amazon AppStore hompage, is the words "Get a great paid app for free every day". This means, Amazon will feature a paid application everyday, and you have the option to get the application FREE of charge! Although this feature is already on iOS devices, it is provided by a 3rd party website, unlike the one Amazon is providing on their own AppStore.

In fact, at the time of writing this article, Angry Birds RIO (Sorry, Amazon isn't letting me link to the product page. Please access through the Amazon AppStore.) is free for Android devices exclusively from the Amazon AppStore! Go check it out now! This offer is only available for a limited time.

I wanted to link you guys some cool and popular games on this blog post, but I guess Amazon still have a lot of touching up to do, and the linking feature for Amazon Associates Members are not currently compatible with the new AppStore. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. If you want to go check out the apps please access it here.

Pokemon Black and White Merchandise!

Photo I took from the Pokémon Black and White Mall tour. You can find more pictures here.

Anyways guys today, this blog post will be for all you Pokémon lovers out there! I will be showing you some Pokémon merchandise they sell on Amazon!

The DS Pokemon Character Case is a case for storing your Nintendo DS in. The case is compatible with your Nintendo DS Lite and Nintendo DSi gaming systems. The product itself features the new Pokémon (Tepig, Oshawott, and Snivy) from the Pokémon Black and White games. The kit also comes along with 3 styluses (also featuring the new Pokémon), cleaning cloth, and single game card storage cases! This is an official Nintendo product, and NOT some cheap knock off case.

DS Pokemon Character Stylus

If the DS Pokemon Character Case was too expensive for you, then this might be the offer for you! Instead of a case, the DS Pokemon Character Stylus features the three new Pokémon (Tepig, Oshawott, and Snivy) from the Pokémon Black or White games as styluses. This is also an official product from Nintendo. I got one of these from the Pokémon Black or White Mall tour for free. You don't have to use them with a DS. They work well with some other touch screens too! (Won't work with your iPod touch touch screens though... If you were thinking about that, you might as well forget it.)

Pokémon Center Official Pokémon Plushies

The three plushies you see above are Pokémon Center Official Pokémon plushies. The plushies are imported from Japan and is official Pokémon merchandise from Japan. They are great for any Pokémon lover! You don't want to buy cheap knock offs, because they sometimes will not really look like the original Pokémon, and sometimes may contain lead or other poisonous dyes on them. Cheap knock off ones (as the name suggests) are very cheaply made and from the cheapest materials around. The Pokémon Center Official Pokémon Plushies is made from quality materials and are lead FREE. So think twice before you buy a cheap knock off next time.

Nintendo DSi Bundles

The Nintendo DSi Bundles comes along with limited edition Nintedo DSi featuring the new Pokémon Black or White games. It comes along with a limited edition carrying case, a copy of Pokémon Black or White games, and the other stuff you would normally find in a Nintendo DSi package (charger, stylues, etc...)

Sony's Compact 3D HD Camcorder

As I was browsing Amazon for products the other day, Sony's new camcorder turned up in my recommendations. Although I can't say they are the first ones to make a compact 3D HD camcorder, the Sony MHS-FS3 3D Bloggie Touch Camera is a light weight compact 3D HD camcorder that records 1080p video. (Photo below is from Amazon)
The device features a 2.4" glasses-free 3D display capable of displaying 3D  with out the need for glasses. The device also includes an 8GB internal memory which allows you to record up to 4 hours of HD video. Similar to Flip Video, there is a flip-out USB arm for transferring files and charging. Built in LED illuminates the surroundings for a better photo or video.

The product itself is about 2.8 x 4.9 x 2.8 inches and weighs around 9.6 ounces. There is also an HDMI port for outputing video to a compatible HD TV. Great for the whole family and friends.

Here is the specifications:
- 2.8 x 4.9 x 2.8 inches
- 9.6 ounces
- 8GB internal memory (up to 4 hours of video)
- 3D/2D photo mode
- 4x digital zoom
- 5MP pictures
- 3D 1080p video capture
- HDMI output
- 2.4" glasses-free 3D display

So what are you waiting for? Go get the Sony MHS-FS3 3D Bloggie Touch Camera now!

Okay, enough with the product specifications... You know what was on my mind the whole time? Unless Flip Video makes a 3D camcorder, I think they'll go bankrupt. XD I mean, this camcorder is very similar to Flip Video. The only extra feature is probably it can display and capture 3D video and photos. They better do something quick... Sony is going to steal a lot of customers from them. I was originally thinking about getting Flip Video, but now I want the Sony MHS-FS3 3D Bloggie Touch Camera instead! This concludes the paragraph on what was on my mind.

Key Shaped USB Flash Drive

The LaCie imakey is a key shaped, light weight USB flash drive that will fit on your keychain with your other keys. :) The design is light weight, and small. It will blend right in with your other keys for your house. The sturdy metal housing protects the delicate circuitry inside, and is water and scratch resistant! The LaCie imakey also comes along with an encryption software for encrypting part of the flash drive or all of the flash drive for securing confidential data. The LaCie imakey comes in 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB models. (I did not list the 4GB version here because at the time or writing, the 4GB flash drive is not sold by Amazon and cost around the same price as the 8GB flash drive. If you visit the product page, you will see an option for the 4GB model.)

Transfer rates can reach 30MB/s and write speeds up to 10MB/s. The flash drive also comes along with a small plastic cap to protect the contacts from damage.

Japan Earthquake May Delay iPad 2 Production

Photo from AppAdvice.

As a lot of you guys know Japan was recently hit by a 8.9 magnitude earthquake which caused tsunamis which killed a lot of people. You may be asking what this has to do with the production of the iPad 2 right?

Apparently the iPad 2's battery and flash memory is made in Japan. Production at many Japanese manufacturing facilities has come to a halt following Friday's 8.9 magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami, which has left more than 5,600 people dead and destroyed swaths of the country.

Apple launched the iPad 2 in the United States last week to strong demand, with many stores selling out of the device and analysts estimating that the company sold 1 million units during the weekend. The predicted wait time for the iPad 2 used to be 4-5 weeks. Although Apple denies commenting on how the earthquake will affect the production, most likely the wait time will be extended due to the halt on the production of the batteries and flash memory.

On Tuesday, Apple said it would delay the launch of the iPad 2 in Japan as "the country and our teams focus on recovering from the recent disaster." An Apple spokeswoman told Reuters the decision to delay sales had nothing to do with any component shortages.

Apple may make plans with other companies to produce the missing components to shorten the delay on the iPads.

Anyways guys, if you have not yet donated please help contribute to this natural disaster by donating to the American Red Cross through Amazon. It is what God want's you to do! :) The Japanese people is in serious need of food, shelter, and potassium iodide (to help lower the intake of radioactive iodine).

Sanyo Eneloop Rechargeable Battery Review

The Sanyo Eneloop Rechargeable Battery is the battery I use in my DSLR's external camera flash. Unlike other batteries, this battery have a very strong long lasting charge. It is great for power all your battery powered electronic devices that uses AA or AAA batteries. The battery charge will stay for at least a year, unlike other rechargeables which will pretty much be useless in a year.

My external camera flash works great with this! It will power many many flashes, which proves it is very strong. I didn't regret my purchase yet! It is great! I can't believe I didn't use this sooner. All those money I wasted on the other brands that doesn't even work. If you need rechargeable batteries, I suggest you go get the Sanyo Eneloop Rechargeable Battery. This is great for DSLR's external flashes, your Wii remotes, flashlights, or other products that drains your batteries quickly! So go get yours now!

The Amazon Kindle

Photo from Amazon.

The Amazon Kindle is the e-reader from Amazon. With the Kindle, you can have a whole library of books with you where ever you travel! Amazon offers free 3G internet connection (3G models only) which can be used to browse the internet with their new BETA browser feature, download new books in 60 seconds or less, and other great features. Amazon library of books includes 810,000 books, including 107 of 111 New York Times Best Sellers, and 1.8 million free out-of-copyright books!

What else can you ask? The battery will last 1 month (with wireless off, and 10 days (with wireless on). Kindle DX battery life may be shorter. There is no glare when you read in the sun unlike some other e-readers.

The screen is about 6" (9.7 on the Kindle DX). The dimensions are 7.5" x 4.8" x 0.335" (10.4" x 7.2" x 0.38" on the Kindle DX). The Kindle can hold around 3500 books itself. Some books can even be literally read to you via the Kindle. It can also double as an MP3 player. In fact, you can lend your friends your books for up to 4 weeks (I think). :)

Did you know that you can also play games on the Amazon Kindle? It is amazing. At first I thought an ebook reader like this couldn't have the technology inside to process complicated algorithms like this until a few games for the showed up on my recommendations! There are games like chess, sudoku, tic-tac-toe, and a lot of other games for the Amazon Kindle! Here are some games!

To be honest, I wasn't that convinced to go buy one, but now, I really want one! I didn't know about games and free web browsing until now! Update your Twitter on the go! :) Check you Facebook. What else? The 3G is free! Get your Amazon Kindle now! It doesn't cost a lot. Although the does Amazon Kindle lack a book light, but that can easily be fix by getting a case along with your Kindle.

If you are planning on getting a Kindle, I would personally suggest you get this Kindle, because there is both Wifi and 3G. The Kindle DX does not have Wifi or computer support.

What is Happening with the Nuclear Reactors in Japan

I think this professor explains it pretty well...

Since they are cooling off the reactors with ocean water, it will probably erode away a lot of the components in the reactors. Most likely they will have to rebuild the whole thing. :\

Anyways guys, if you have not yet donated please help contribute to this natural disaster by donating to the American Red Cross through Amazon. It is what God want's you to do! :) The Japanese people is in serious need of food, shelter, and potassium iodide (to help lower the intake of radioactive iodine).

Nuclear Reactor Issue in Japan Sparks Debates on the Use of Nuclear Energy

Nuclear reactions is a really efficient way of generating great amounts of electricity, but has also been very very dangerous. One little thing that goes wrong in a reactor can lead to explosions and meltdowns spreading radioactive material for hundreds of miles. Radioactive material may kill or cause serious health risks for any living thing that comes in contact with it. Although, there has been debates about the uses of nuclear energy, it hasn't been a hot topic until recently.

As a lot of you know, there has been a terrible earthquake in Japan recently. This knocked out the power to the cooling systems for several nuclear reactors in Japan almost causing a meltdown. Right now, they are trying to cool off the reactors with ocean water. This pretty much renders the reactors useless, and isn't enough for keeping the radioactive material inside. The radioactive material has leaked out, and Japan cleared all residents with in 30 miles of the reactors.

This sparked debates in countries around the world. People are saying we either should give up on nuclear energy, or we need new safety standards before we build any more reactors.

Switzerland has suspended the approval process for three nuclear power plants, so safety standards can be reconsidered. India has ordered safety inspections for all of its nuclear plants. China says they want to learn what really went down in Japan, but does not plan on delaying the country's plans on building more reactors. China is aggressively expanding its nuclear power industry. The United States have not brought any new reactors online since the last accident which occured at Pennsylvania's Three Mile Island facility in 1979.

Although I don't think we should give up on nuclear power, we definitely need new safety standards for the nuclear reactors. I mean, what is electricity going to do if everyone is dead?

Anyways guys, if you have not yet donated please help contribute to this natural disaster by donating to the American Red Cross through Amazon. It is what God want's you to do! :) The Japanese people is in serious need of food, shelter, and potassium iodide (to help lower the intake of radioactive iodine).

Anyways... Talking about USB hubs. I'm planning on buying a USB hub for myself. I'm very low on USB ports on my computer. I'm planning on getting the product you see below.

It is a 7 port USB hub by CyberPower. It has an external power adapter, so you can pretty plug anything into it and it will get enough power for it to run. The reviews look convincing. A few people say they experienced some problems, but the majority loved the product! :D I'm thinking about getting this one. Not only does it have a cool look, but I will finally have ports to plug my iPod into with out unplugging something. ROFL My self-powered USB hub isn't doing so well. I can transfer files in and out of my phone, but it will not charge while I'm doing it. Hopefully this will fix the issue...

Are you short USB ports too? Why not go get one for yourself? :) I'll be posting a review here, if I buy it. I most likely will. LOL Might be in a few weeks. I need time to use it and see how it goes. Youtube is still giving me a pain with it's uploader... Still can't upload my Yellowstone videos. >.< Man... They need to fix it. Seriously.

iPad 2 Announced!

Photo from AppAdvice.

At a special event in San Francisco Wednesday, Apple announced the iPad 2, a follow up to the original iPad released in April of last year. The new iPad will feature a 1GHz dual-core Apple A5 processor, a front facing camera, a back facing camera, and a longer battery life.

iPad 2 Released! Check out the this deal on Amazon!

The A5 processor is like the A4 processor, but uses less power. Apple promises 10 hours of battery life per charge.

Like the iPhone 4 and the iPod touch 4G, the front facing camera can be used for Facetime and has VGA (640 x 480) resolution. The back facing camera can take 720p video and pictures. Back camera has a 5x digital zoom. XD Digital zoom sucks. My opinion. Well let's continue.

The iPad 2 features a 1024-by-768-pixel resolution LCD at 132 pixels per inch just like the original iPad.

The weight and size of the iPad is also a bit different from the original one. The iPad 2 weighs 1.3 pounds and 0.35 inch thick which is thinner than the iPhone 4. The original iPad was 1.5 pounds and 0.5 inch thick.

The iPad 2 can output 1080p video (with accessory from Apple) and there are 2 colors to choose from. The buyer can choose between a white iPad 2 or a black iPad 2.
