No More Unlimited Listening with Spotify

If you loved Spotify, you'd hate to hear this. Up till now, all free users were able to enjoy listening to free music with some advertisements in between, but there has been changes to their free service as of today. Now, all free users will be able to enjoy the unlimited music for 6 more month. That is it. After that, users will be limited to listening to the same track 5 times, and be limited to a total of 10 hours a month. That is equivalent to about 200 tracks or 20 albums. The founder of Spotify, Daniel Ek, said if you worry about running over those limits, you are recommended that you upgrade your account to Unlimited or Premium as those types of accounts will not be affected by these changes. He has also promised to boost the short 7 day Spotify Premium trial up to a full 30 days.

As for me, I never got addicted to this app and went back to using iTunes, but is kind of sad news for me as it would be for all the users out there who loved Spotify. I guess I will not be using this service anymore until it is 100% free again. :P I think this is a loss on their end really. Putting all these limits on the free users is only going to drive away their customers. Less listeners means less advertisers.
